NestJS stuck because large TypeScript shops wanted Spring-like boundaries without leaving npm. Admiration is moderate — it is verbose by design. It beat raw Express in RFPs by giving architects boxes to draw on slides.

Front-end frameworks consolidated power; TypeScript became the floor; serverless and Jamstack rebranded old ideas with better CDNs.
